Our new section on classic tractors and farm machinery reflects the growing interest in restoring and running these bygones of mechanised farming. Our first ten books cover classic tractors from the 1940s and 1950s. Three of these are full overhaul manuals compiled by us from material published at the time by Newnes, Girling and Borg & Beck plus the relevant Data Supplements, or extracts from them, published by the trade publication Motor Trader. The other seven are compiled from complete Motor Trader Service and Repair Supplements. These were first published for the garage trade in November 1936 and rapidly became a recognised authoritative reference for professional mechanics. They set a new standard for concise, fact-packed information and, to ensure accuracy, each was checked and vetted by the service manager of the vehicle manufacturer concerned. During World War II when private motoring was suspended, the garage trade turned to the repair of tractors and other farm machinery. Motor Trader responded with a new series of Supplements in the 1940s and 1950s. They ran to between six and eight closely printed A4 pages illustrated by 'exploded' drawings of the major mechanical components plus numerous charts and, where appropriate, a wiring diagram. All the Supplements cover the essential information needed
to service and repair the vehicles, together with detailed concise but
detailed information on the complete overhaul of the major mechanical
components. We have compiled several tractor Supplements into each book
at the very reasonable price of £5.25 each, POST FREE. Our latest addition is a very useful book on Servicing
and Overhauling the popular Villiers Mk10 and Mk12 engines fitted to a
large number of horticultural machines and lawn mowers. It includes fully
